What Comprehensive Treatment Covers
At IN Focus First, the evaluation process is part of a personalized psychiatric care approach for patients with complex mental health concerns, grounded in clinical precision rather than a rushed questionnaire. Jessica Walsh reviews psychiatric and medical history in depth, with attention to co-occurring medical illnesses when relevant, and explores how symptoms present across different settings and life stages to understand whether anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, treatment-resistant depression, sleep disruption, or other mental health issues may be contributing to or mimicking ADHD symptoms. From there, collaborative treatment plans are developed around each person’s symptoms, goals, and history.
For adults, adult ADHD testing and medication management require special attention to how symptoms have evolved, particularly ADHD in women whose presentations are frequently missed in traditional psychiatry settings. Care may also include psychotherapy or individual psychotherapy, including talk therapy approaches such as cognitive behavior therapy focused on problem-solving techniques. When medication is appropriate, most medications are prescribed only after a thorough evaluation, and their effectiveness and side effects are monitored regularly.
